The Town of Newmarket has enacted amendments to its sign by-law, which impacts real estate and open house signs.
TREB Action
TREB is committed to ensuring that municipal sign by-laws are conducive to the business practices of our Members. TREB provided the Town of Newmarket with feedback on the proposed sign by-law amendments. Without TREB's involvement, the sign by-law would have restricted the number of open house signs and mandated that real estate signs be removed within fourteen (14) days after the property is no longer for sale/lease. Thanks to our efforts, the Town of Newmarket's amendments allow for real estate signs to be on the property for thirty (30) days after the property is no longer for sale/lease and has not restricted the number of open house directional signs.
