A TREB Member recently reported that a buyer client received an email appearing to be from their salesperson, but which actually came from someone who had hacked into their salesperson's account.
The email directed the buyer to wire funds to a bank account in Aurora, stating, "Parents should wire the closing funds to the account details below, due to issues the Cooperating Brokerage needs to solve regarding their default account."
This is a reminder to notify your clients to not take direction regarding funds from anyone other than yourselves.
