A Member has reported that they were cold called by a company promising them leads and guaranteed sales if they signed up the same day for the price of $3,000.
The Member signed up and was provided with one lead every six months on average. These leads never panned out, and the Member was told they'd have to pay extra to receive additional leads.
Similarly, the same Member reported calls from various organizations offering to assist with services such as Web page setup, search engine optimization, and client incentivization if the Member provided these organizations with their credit card information.
The Member declined these offers and upon calling the numbers back, failed to reach anyone. They also decided to further research the organizations and upon doing so, were able to confirm that the services being offered were not valid.
As a result of these notices, TREB advises Members to research any service companies they are approached by before signing up for the services.
