Recently, a TREB Member brought to our attention a situation that occurred last week involving BREB Members.
A man approached at least two female REALTORS®, meeting them at their Brokerage offices late at night when staff had left, on the pretense that he was looking to buy one or more homes.
He then requested to view the homes after 9:00 p.m. and offered to drive. In one instance, the man steered the conversation to inappropriate grounds, making several suggestive comments and sexual inferences.
In both instances, the REALTOR® was able to end the appointment and leave.
A complaint was filed this week with Peel Regional Police, who then met with the man in question. Apparently, the man contacted seven women; however, the police do not believe any further contact will be made and decided that there were no grounds for criminal charges.
