The National Do Not Call List was implemented to give consumers a choice about whether to receive telemarketing calls. When it was introduced it created new responsibilities for Canada’s telemarketers. REALTORS® who use telecommunications technologies to make unsolicited calls or send faxes to consumers for the purpose of solicitation are deemed telemarketers.
